Our priorities are whole-body health. We help our patients understand if they have a dental link to a medical risk.
Dr. Ethan Harris
San Ramon Dentist Dr. Ethan Harris has been serving the East Bay community since 2010. He received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Tufts University in 2005 and practiced dentistry in Boston for five years before moving to the Bay Area. While at Tufts, Dr. Harris received the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain Award and did post-graduate studies at the Pankee and Spear Institutes. His extensive training in studio art and his passion for dental esthetics have led him to pursue accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Harris says, “The most exciting and rewarding aspect of dentistry for me is the capacity to change lives one smile at a time by creating natural beauty through art and science.” Dr. Harris’ dedication to cosmetic dentistry begins with compassion for his patients and whole body health and wellness. He delivers the highest quality of care possible and provides maximum attention to detail. Dr. Harris’ hobbies include oil painting and playing drums.
As long as I can remember, I’ve always loved music. My Mom put me in classical piano lessons for ten years starting at age 7. I learned to play by ear and memorized 10 page Mozart pieces. At that same age of 7, I took an interest in drums. My first performance on drums was playing “Wipe Out” with my band at the noon-time show in camp. I bought my first 45rpm record: “Mickey” by Toni Basil at age 6 and my second 45rpm record “Looks That Kill” by Motley Crue in 1983. My first concert experience was Monsters of Rock in 1988 with Van Halen and Metallica with my older brother.
By age 12 I had purchased my first drum set, a Ludwig, because my Mom said that’s what Ringo Starr played. By high school I had also taken an interest in playing hand drums. My 1996 trip to Ghana, West Africa was one of the best experiences of my life, where I learned how to play traditional African drums. In 2008, I was fortunate enough to travel to Kingston, Jamaica to record original dancehall reggae music with my high school classmate.
I love music of all kinds, Rock ‘N’ Roll, Reggae, Jazz, Classical, Latin, Hip Hop, and World. Music makes me feel alive. I still love listening to my vinyl records to this day. I am so grateful and happy to be able to incorporate my love for music into my new dental office. I believe everybody should enjoy all of their interests and pursue all of their passions no matter what they are.
Anita - Office Manager
Anita Does it all at Rock ’N’Roll Dental! She began her career in dentistry as a lab technician and then worked her way up as a registered dental assistant.
Anita attended RDA and EF2 school while raising three kids which shaped her strong work ethic and dedication. She joined our practice in October of 2021 and soon after attained her RDA EF2 certificate, a license which allows her to perform multiple highly skilled clinical procedures including placing fillings. Anita then became our office manager, and currently performs all of the essential functions in our office including treatment planning, financial planning, insurance maximizing, scheduling, and of course answering all of your questions.
While balancing all of these administrative duties, she continues to use her phenomenal clinical skills to help Dr. Harris deliver the highest quality dentistry to our wonderful patients. Her experience on both the clinical and administrative side allows her to both support our team and make our patients feel comfortable and taken care of. Outside of work, Anita enjoys spending time with family and friends. She enjoys shopping and camping as well.
Green Dentistry
We have many environmentally conscious measures in place such as dry evacuation systems that decrease the water use by 60 gallons per hour. We always select recycled, environmentally friendly, and biodegradable materials, cleaning agents, and consumables. Our digital radiography emits 90% less radiation for patients. Our separator units safeguard water lines when silver fillings are removed and we routinely use rubber dam barriers, which keep dust and particles from being ingested.
High Tech Dentistry
My staff and I utilize the latest in technology to increase the quality of your dental care. This includes high-power magnification and headlamps to enhance precision. We use electric hand-pieces for more comfort, less vibration, and less noise. Our team also utilizes intraoral camera technology that allows us to view clear, precise images–details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations.
Our Role In Medicine
Research shows that dental disease, inflammation, and oral bacteria can compromise many medical conditions and are linked to patients’ overall health. We help physicians manage potential dental-related complications in cardiac surgeries, immune system deficiencies, pregnancy, diabetes, and with chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
Comfort
We always provide a relaxing atmosphere and use light-handed, gentle techniques. If you are anxious, we can prescribe anti anxiety medications you can take before your appointment as well as nitrous oxide during your procedure. We also offer extra neck and back support, and noise-canceling headsets. Throughout the treatment, we’ll take breaks whenever you need them. Before and after your treatment, we offer soothing lip ointments.
